Season Overview
In 2021-22 the club entered five senior teams in the RDCA with the season consisting of 14 one-day matches due to the ongoing effects of COVID. Overall we had 74 players represent the club in senior cricket including 15 juniors.
Our First XI were promoted to ‘Pascoe Shield’ and acquitted themselves well to qualify for finals in 4th spot. Unfortunately the side went down to Yarra Junction in the Elimination Final. The Second XI moved up to ‘C’ grade after winning last year’s ‘D’ grade premiership and went to the Christmas break undefeated. After the break, the twos had a few jitters with four losses before getting things together in the finals to take out another flag.
The Third XI played in ‘F’ grade and had an up and down season with several good wins and a few heavy defeats. The side acted as a bit of a development team as it featured six of our Under 16s at various stages and a number of other young players who all showed promising signs. In the end, the 3s finished in 6th place on the ladder.
The Fourth XI played in ‘Modified 3’ and was competitive all season. The side had a number of close losses early before a series of good wins in the latter part of the season to finish in 5th place. The Fifth XI played in ‘Modified 5’ and managed to grab three good wins in a challenging season where they finished in 7th
